Lake Khuvsgul, located at the Northern part of the country, is one of the most beloved jewels of Mongolian people. It is the second-largest freshwater lake in Central Asia and holds 70% of the country’s fresh water supply. The Khuvsgul area in general serves as meeting point between the Siberian Taiga region and Central Asian steppes. The local nomads herd a large number of yaks and goats.

Day 1 - Arrival
Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar by air or train you will be greeted by your guide and driver, and transferred to your hotel. Half or full-day city tours are available. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 2 - Murun - Khuvsgul lake
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Murun, the capital of the northern Khuvsgul province. Continue to the Khuvsgul Lake, also known as the Blue Pearl of Mongolia /110km/. Lunch at the camp. Walk along the lake shore and enjoy the scenery. Dinner and overnight stay at the ger camp on the lake shore. (L/D)
Day 3 - Khuvsgul lake
Breakfast at the ger camp. Take a full day to explore the breathtaking lake and surroundings. Before lunch, you will experience a half-day horse riding along the lake. Lunch at the camp. Visit local reindeer families living in traditional dwellings – urts or teepees and have photos taken petting the reindeer. The Dukha people, also known as reindeer herders, their unique culture that has for centuries involved a sustainable use of products from reindeer and the taiga. Overnight stay in a Ger camp. (B/L/D)
Day 4 - Murun
After breakfast drive back to Murun. Visit local museum and markets. Overnight stay at the local hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 5 - Ulaanbaatar
In the early morning catch a flight to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight in the hotel. (B)
