Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR CITY
Please arrange your arrival date in this day and our national escort will pick you up from airport/train station and transfer to your hotel for check-in. If your arrival time permits join the welcoming dinner with your tour guide and tour briefing will be introduced during this dinner.
Day 2 - BAYAN ULGII CITY
Start your day meeting the tour guide before heading to Bayan Ulgii, the westernmost province of Mongolia, known for its Kazakh people and unique cultural heritage. The 2-hour flight will bring you to this region renowned for music, handicrafts, and traditional Golden Eagle hunting. Upon arrival in Ulgii, drive to a village where a skilled eagle hunter awaits to share his traditions. Receive a warm welcome into his family for an authentic experience, followed by a joyous welcome party showcasing community camaraderie. Traditional hospitality extends to a special dinner featuring freshly prepared sheep, culminating in the Bes Barmak feast, a celebration of unity and shared stories—a testament to Mongolian hospitality's genuine warmth.
Day 3 - Eagle Hunter's Performance
Start your day with a captivating session led by skilled performers, unraveling the intricacies of horse riding with a majestic golden eagle. Learn time-honored techniques from revered Eagle hunters, preparing for an adventure in the Altay mountains. Gear up for an unforgettable hunt, witnessing the incredible partnership between eagle and master. Traverse rugged landscapes, keeping an eye out for elusive creatures like foxes, rabbits, and the elusive Pallas cat. Amidst this exhilarating experience, savor the breathtaking scenery of the Altay mountains. Engage in enriching exchanges with seasoned Eagle hunters, gaining insights into their age-old techniques and deep bond with these magnificent birds.
Day 4 - FIRST DAY OF GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL
he Golden Eagle Festival is an annual traditional festival held in Bayan-Ulgii aimag, Mongolia. In the eagle festival, Kazakh eagle hunters celebrate their heritage and compete to catch small animals such as foxes and hares with specially trained golden eagles, showing off the skills both of the birds and their trainers. The festival will begin with the hunters proudly displaying their traditional Kazakh costumes and showing their eagle's equipment and decorations. This is an exciting and authentic event that not only features eagle hunters' competitions, but also other Kazakh traditional games such as Kokbar (goat skin bag polo), Kazakh archery, and many more. Prizes are given for the best traditional costume, eagle gear, and decorations. The eagles are to be rated according to their speed and agility. During the festival, folklore performances add even more joy to the already fantastic atmosphere. You can take as many photos as you wish. Also, you get a chance to hold the eagle and take pictures with them. It will be definitely an exciting and adventurous trip. Watch the eagle show and have lunch. Then watch a tug-of-war competition called "Tulam bulaah" or "Bushkashi" which is one of the most entertaining activities of the festival. It is an act of several men on horses fighting over to grab a goatskin.
Day 5 - SECOND DAY OF GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL
Second day of the festival will continue after breakfast with awarding ceremony. Watch national performances such as Mongolian traditional dance, music instrumental matches, and throat singing which is known as khoomei after closing operations. Farewell party at the restaurant. Another delicious lunch and dinner.
Day 6 - ULAANBAATAR CITY
Take a flight back to Ulaanbaatar city and rest of the day is free for leisure. In the evening farewell dinner with local guide.
Day 7 - DEPARTURE
Any time for your international departure, you will be transferred to airport or train station.
