Tour Overview
Adventures in the Altai Mountains provide insight into some of Mongolia's most exotic landscapes. Held in the Bayan-Ulgii province, home to ethnic Kazakhs, this tour takes you across the almost untouched mountainous landscape of western Mongolia. Trekking in Altai Taban Bogd National Park is undoubtedly the highlight of the tour. Stretching across the borders of China, Russia and Mongolia, the park is home to massive massifs, ice glaciers and wildlife.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1. - Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
After arriving in Ulaanbaatar, meet the guide and driver. Go to the hotel. Half-day or full-day tours are optional upon request if you have time foxes.
Day 2. - Chingis Khan Statue, Terelj National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Genghis Khan statue complex 54 km from Ulaanbaatar. Explore the statue complex. The statue symbolically faces east towards his birthplace. Visitors can walk through the horse's chest and neck towards the horse's head to get a panoramic view of the surroundings. Next, depart for Terelj National Park. Spend the day touring the region and enjoying the majestic alpine scenery. There are great opportunities for hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding. You can visit a nomadic family, explore a unique lifestyle and experience horseback riding.
Day 3. - Ulgii village
On this day, take a domestic flight to Olgi Village, drive to the Hobde River and camp on the riverbank. overnight in a tent.
Day 4. - Khoton and Khurgan Lake
Move to the Khotong and Khurgan rivers. Along the way, you will visit a Kazakh family to experience nomadic life and set up camp early. Meet the local guide and arrange trekking. overnight in a tent.
Day 5. - Khoton and Khurgan lake trekking
Trekking begins on this day. Trekking is done through the terrain of gentle hills and small flat valleys that lie along the Hetong River. The area is dotted with white Kazakh gers who live in the area. It is also rare to find ancient circular tombs marked with a perimeter circle with a stacked stone in the center. overnight in a tent.
Day 6. - Tsagaan gol
After lunch on this day, we will go to the Chaganggeol Valley. Arrive at Chaganggeolville in the evening. Camping next to the Tuban family, meeting the family and experiencing their lifestyle. overnight in a tent.
Day 7. - Tsagaan gol
The day's hike is about 18 km through the Shiveet Khairkhan mountain, famous for its petroglyphs. Camping in the Chaganggal Basin. overnight in a tent.
Day 8. - Potanine Glacier
This day's hike is 18 km. The group will arrive at Potanin Glacier and camp there. The glacier stretches for 17 km. Here you can enjoy views of the 5 highest peaks of the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains. overnight in a tent.
Day 9. - trekking malching peaks
On this day you will climb Malchin Peak, one of the five peaks of Altai Taban Bogd. The summit is 4,049 m above sea level. overnight in a tent.
Day 10. - Tsagaan gol
It is the last day of the trek and you will return to Chaganggal to meet the local driver. You will have a farewell dinner with a local camel and horse guide. overnight in a tent.
Day 11. - Ulgii village
I'm going to Olgi Village. Upon arrival in town, check-in at a local hotel. You will visit the local market and stroll through the village. Dinner at a Muslim restaurant. Overnight in a local hotel.
Day 12. - Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch a domestic flight back to downtown Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel
Day 13. - international airport
You go to the train station or the airport for departure.
