Tour Overview
There are 3000 species of flowering plants registered in Mongolia. Species representing the Siberian coniferous taiga forest, Central Asian steppe and desert, and the Altai and Sayan Mountains all occur here.
Mongolia’s flora includes almost 150 endemic plants and nearly 100 relic species. Over 100 plant species are listed in the Mongolian Red Book as rare or endangered. These include 75 medicinal species, 11 for food and 16 used in industry.

Tour Itinerary
- Day 1 - Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the selected hotel. After check-in to the hotel, we will do a short city tour including Chinggis (Sukhbaatar) Square, Chinggis Khaan Monument, National History Museum and Zaisan Hill for a panoramic view of the city. Before dinner, we will enjoy a Mongolian traditional folklore concerts. Have a welcoming dinner. Overnight in selected hotel (L/D)
- Day 2 - Ulaanbaatar - Gorkhi Terelj National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park located 70km from Ulaanbaatar. At the park, we will see the Turtle Rock and visit Ariyapala, a meditation center in the mountain valley where we will find a variety of different flowers. Visit a local family and ride a horse for an hour. There are great opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and flower watching. Overnight in tourist GER camp
- Day 3 - Gorkhi-Terelj National Park – Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur
Today, we will drive to the Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur where Temujin was proclaimed Chinggis Khaan, ruler of the Great Mongolian State in 1189. This event and the lake are described in the Secret History of Mongols, historical chronicles written in the 13th century. The lake is located at 1675m above sea level. There are numerous flowers and plants growing in the Khan Khentii mountain range area where the lake is located. We will visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue complex on the way. Overnight in tourist GER camp
- Day 4 - Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur
We will continue our flower watching tour in the surrounding area. If the weather and the driving conditions permit, we can visit the Khangal lake located about 45km from the Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur Lake and Baldan Bereeven Monastery in another 10km before returning to the ger camp. Overnight in tourist GER camp
- Day 5 - Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur -Ulaanbaatar
After early breakfast, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. We will have lunch on the way in Baganuur city. Free afternoon for relax and leisure time Overnight in selected hotel
- Day 6 - Departure
Check out from the hotel. Transfer to airport. Departure
