While exploring Mongolia, you will have the chance to learn of local eating habits, superstitions and ways of respect towards nature. Mongolia’s diet, especially in the countryside area, is very dependent on meat and milk. Interacting with Nomadic families and observing their day-to-day steps will give you an appreciation of how the nomads have been living in harmony with nature for thousands of years.

    Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar. (L/D)

    Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. City tour including a visit to Natural History Museum to see the collection of dinosaur fossils, and the Zaisan Memorial Hill to see a panoramic view of the capital city. Overnight at selected hotel

    Day 2 - Bayangobi. 300km (B/L/D)

    After breakfast visit the Gandan Monastery, including the beautiful Janraisag temple, the biggest working Buddhist monastery in Mongolia and the Bogd Khan Winter Palace, the home of the last Khan of Mongolia who ruled until 1924. After lunch drive to Bayan Gobi 280km away. Overnight in tourist GER camp

    Day 3 - Bayangobi. (B/L/D)

    Breakfast at the camp, exploration of the local sand dunes and hiking for photo sessions. After lunch attend the Mongolian Ger Program, which will give you an introduction to the traditional Mongolian dwelling, the ger. Learn how to assemble a ger and how to pack the components on a camel or bull cart. The program duration is two to four hours. Overnight in tourist GER camp

    Day 4 - Bayangobi. (B/L/D)

    After breakfast pick up your horses and ride to the home of a nomadic family. Picnic lunch. After lunch attend the Milk and Dairy Product Program. Tourists will hold the calves while the cows are milked, boil milk, make tarag (yogurt) and other dairy products. Tourists will also be introduced to the traditional method of making Mongolian vodka (arkhi). Enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner and ride back to the camp. Overnight in tourist GER camp

    Day 5 - Bayangobi. (B/L/D)

    After breakfast saddle your horses and ride to the home of another local nomad family. Picnic lunch. After lunch attend the Mongolian Herdsmen Program. Tourist can participate in catching horses and preparing them for riding. They will be acquainted with the Mongolian legends and traditions about horses, cattle, sheep and goats, and milking mares and making airag. Ride back to camp and have dinner. Overnight in tourist GER camp

    Day 6 - Karakorum ancient capital. 100km (B/L/D)

    After an early breakfast, transport to Karakorum (100km). Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, once the largest monastery in Mongolia and almost totally destroyed in the Communist purges of the 1930s. Tour the monastery grounds and see several temples with examples of Buddhist Iconography dating from the 16th century. Visit the symbolic ruins of Karakorum, the 13th century imperial capital of the Mongol Empire. Overnight in tourist GER camp

    Day 7 - Ulaanbaatar. 380km (B/L/D)

    Breakfast at base camp. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, arriving in the afternoon. All afternoon free at leisure for individual plans. Overnight at selected hotel

    Day 8 - Departure. (B)

    Transfer to airport for international departure
