Fishing in Mongolia is a wonderful experience. We have over 4000 rivers and more than 3000 lakes - all much unpolluted, and a fabulous place to catch a wide variety of fish. Taimen, the largest fish in the salmon family, is a challenge to catch – try your luck on this tour! The average Taimen is around 33 inches and weighs roughly 10 pounds, however, there will be multiple chances every day to try catching fish over 50 inches. Siberian White Fish, Siberian Grayling, Lenok, Umber, Baikal, Omul and River Perch are among the other varieties you will catch among the spectacular scenery of Mongolia’s exotic nature. The fishing season starts from 15 August.

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar. (B/L/D)

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to selected hotel. After lunch, take city tour including Sukhbaatar Square, National History Museum and then visit Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Enjoy traditional concert and have a dinner.

Day 2. Onon River. 300km (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we will have a full day driving to Onon River, Khentii Province- eastern region of Mongolia which will be quite exciting with exploration of attractive landscape composing of mountains, forest, grassland and rivers.

Day 3. Fishing along Onon River. 50km (B/L/D)

Drive about 50km along to Onon River and fishing at confluence of Onon and Barkh River.
Onon River is one of the biggest rivers abundant with fishes. It begins from Khan Khentii
Mountain ranges and flows 800km on Mongolian territories and flows into Shilka River, one of the biggest rivers in Eurasia. Have a picnic lunch.

Day 4. Balj River. 150km (B/L/D)

After breakfast drive about 60-100 km. We will locate in the bank of Balj River which runs nearby Dadal village and flows into Onon River.
Overnight at fishing TENT camp

Day 5-6. Fishing along Balj River. 50km (B/L/D)

2 days of fishing along Balj River. This is a great chance for fishers. Here you can do midnight Taimen fishing when taimen hunts mouse in the night. If there is no moon, you will have a great chance of night fishing experience where only you could do Mongolia.

Day 7. Binder Village. 150km (B/L/D)

Early morning drive back to tourist camp for relaxing.

Day 8. Reserve day (B/L/D)

Just in case, today we will have a reserve day for fishing due to weather condition.
Overnight in tourist GER camp

Day 9. Back to Ulaanbaatar. 300km (B/L/D)

Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon for your leisure time and shopping
Overnight at selected hotel

Day 10. Departure (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airport or train station for your international departure.
